Painted by

"I treasure.

Painted by is a series of garments in progress.
Starting points were beautiful antique Bulgarian family pieces to which different generations have added new elements.
We were touched by the soul of these layered garments.

Painted by consists of unique pieces that have grown from different signatures.
Each piece has been worked on in sequence by Dutch designers and artisans of nearly forgotten techniques, that have become precious beyond time.

A story in garments. "

"I connect the physical and psychological aspects of drawing with journey. For me there is a direct correlation between traveling across a landscape and the path of a graphic mark which transforms a blank page into an imaginary space: The path of a gesture of one's hand across a page can be traced in the same way we can map our journeys across the landscape of a place."

It was a "gezellige" evening! What a good idea to let everyone make their own snack.

Ruby-mag is an internet magazine that features atists and illustrators.
It's inspiring to flick through and to see a spectrum of different art pass by. Here are some examples of the last issue I liked.

"Agathe de Bailliencourt is a French artist whose work features on paper and canvas, as well as directly applied to walls and architecture."

"Rapedius/Rindfleisch work with a very old genre of art history: The landscape. With installations, objects and drawings the artists create not only rural landscapes, but also urban scenarios that subvert the genre's usual expectations."
(These two pieces of text come from the artists own websites)

Karin van Dam will be in Groningen on the 10th of December, Minerva .
This makes me very happy, I can't wait to meet her.  The city as an organism is the main theme in her work.  She often creates an artists book that accompanies her new works.
